An AI receptionist that knows a burst pipe cannot wait until morning

Plans from $59 a month

Botspire answers plumbing calls 24 hours a day, books into the calendar your plumbers already use, and puts a burst pipe, a sewage backup, or a gas smell through to your on-call plumber while the caller is still on the line. A water heater leak gets the soonest real slot. Plans start at $59 a month.

What counts as an emergency on a Plumbing call?

These are phrases the Plumbing template listens for. Each one is a rule the agent is given, not a guess it makes. You choose which of them wake somebody at night.

  • burst pipe

Told to shut the main off if they can reach it, then put through now. Damage is compounding by the minute, so this is never booked for the morning.

It says: “Turn off your main water shutoff if you can reach it safely. I am getting someone on the line now.

  • sewage backup

A health hazard, not an inconvenience. Put through now, along with an overflowing toilet or a main line problem.

  • gas smell

Gas near a water heater is a gas leak first and a plumbing job second. Told to get out, then put through. Never booked.

It says: “Please step outside right now and stay there. I am connecting you to our on-call plumber.

  • no water

An emergency when someone elderly, an infant, or a medical condition is in the house. Otherwise urgent: the soonest slot on your calendar.

What does it book for the morning?

Everything that is not an emergency gets the soonest real slot on your calendar. The Plumbing template starts with these job types, and you edit the list, the prices and the durations.

  • Emergency leak call
  • Drain clearing
  • Water heater repair
  • Water heater replacement
  • Fixture install
  • Leak inspection

What happens after hours in plumbing companies?

Our after-hours study rang 20 HVAC companies, not plumbers, and found one in twenty that could help. Plumbing is the same shape with higher stakes: a burst pipe at 2am is filling a ceiling while the caller listens to a voicemail greeting, and the first company that answers is the company that gets the job. We will publish plumbing numbers when we have called twenty plumbers the same way.

Water does not wait. A leak under a sink is a job next week; a pipe the caller cannot shut off is a claim by morning. Plumbing callers ring down the list until somebody picks up, and the picked-up call is the one that turns into the invoice.

Does it actually speak Plumbing?

Before you go live, Break-It Mode runs your answerer through 6 Plumbing vocabulary scenarios and shows you where it failed. It is asked to understand:

  • A tankless water heater flashing a code: what to read off the display, and not to keep resetting it
  • Banging pipes and very high pressure: a pressure reducing valve question, not a mystery
  • A leak under the sink with no shutoff in sight: where the angle stop is, in plain words
  • Every drain gurgling at once: a main sewer line, not six separate clogs
  • A sump pump silent with rain coming: urgent before the water arrives, not after
  • Water in the pan under the water heater: what the pan is for and why it means a visit

What does it do on a real call?

  • If a caller mentions gas or smoke, it tells them to get everyone out and call 911 before it asks for a single detail.
  • It never lets a caller hang up without knowing what happens next and when.
  • It never promises a callback at a time nothing is arranged to keep.
  • If a transfer does not go through, it texts your on-call plumber and tells the caller that, rather than saying someone is on the way.

What does it connect to?

Google Calendar, Cal.com and n8n, Zapier and Make. Booking goes into the calendar; every call, lead and booking can be sent by webhook to whatever else you run.

Questions plumbing companies ask

How does an AI receptionist handle a burst pipe at 2am?

It tells the caller to turn off the main shutoff if they can reach it safely, then puts them through to your on-call plumber live and texts your plumber the number and the problem. If you do not dispatch at night, the caller gets the shutoff instruction, the first slot tomorrow, and is told exactly when you will see the details.

Will it wake me up for a dripping tap?

No. Only the conditions you tick wake somebody. The plumbing template starts with uncontrolled water, sewage, gas, and no water with someone vulnerable in the house. Everything else is booked for the soonest real slot on your calendar.

Does it know what a PRV or an angle stop is?

Yes. Before you go live you can run it through six plumbing vocabulary scenarios in Break-It Mode, including a tankless heater flashing a code, banging pipes from high pressure, and every drain gurgling at once. If it treats a main line as six clogs, you hear it first.

Can it book a drain clearing into my calendar?

Yes, into Google Calendar or Cal.com. It reads what is actually free before it offers a time and offers two or three real slots. Drain work is same-day only if the calendar shows a slot today. Without a calendar connected it takes the details and says when you will call back.

Does it charge the customer or quote a call-out fee?

It quotes the call-out fee you put on your price list and nothing you did not. It never says the estimate is free unless your list says so, and it never guesses at an after-hours rate.

What if my pipes froze?

It does not diagnose. It books the soonest slot and tells the caller to leave taps trickling in the meantime, which is the one piece of advice a plumber would give over the phone.

What does it cost for a plumbing company?

Plans start at $59 a month for one answerer with about 100 answered calls, with booking, emergency transfer and text alerts, and missed-call text-back included. Higher tiers add minutes, numbers and answerers.

Hear it before you buy

Call the demo line on (817) 339-6593 and describe a Plumbing problem. It answers as a demo receptionist, not a person.

What it does not do: It does not diagnose over the phone and it will not quote a price you have not put on your price list. Booking the morning slot needs a calendar connected; until then it takes the details and tells the caller when you will see them.
